This Privacy Policy explains the ways in which Hebert-Thomas Law, PLLC (“Hebert-Thomas, Law PLLC,” “HT Law,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, protects, and otherwise handles your information, including your personally identifiable information (“PII”). Under United States privacy laws, PII refers to information that can be used, on its own or along with additional information, to identify or locate an individual.

Some PII is sensitive information, such as social security numbers and personal email addresses. Other PII is non-sensitive information, including business telephone numbers and office locations. We handle all PII carefully and prudently.

Our practices and procedures with respect to storing and using collected information will be effective immediately following a change to this Privacy Policy. General Intent

We will always handle your information with the utmost candor and transparency. HT Law is committed to abiding by all applicable privacy laws, including, but not limited to, online security, data collection, marketing to minors, and otherwise.

Information We Collect 

HT Law collects information about your behaviors while using www.hebertthomaslaw.com. Such behaviors include how you navigate the website and how you arrived at the website. This information is collected without your active disclosure using cookies and other tracking technologies.

Additionally, we collect information that you actively disclose to us, including your name, phone number, email address, company name, and details about legal matters. We may also collect your social security number and credit card information in the process of corporate formation or otherwise. Your PII is kept behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of people who are required to maintain confidentiality.

We retain PII only as necessary. In the disposal of PII, we shred all paperwork containing sensitive PII.

Disclosing Your Information to Third-Parties

We may, on occasion, allow our affiliated company (a company that shares common management, i.e. Empuls3, LLC) and MailChimp (through which our Email Newsletter Subscriptions are being provided) to send offers or information to you. However, HT Law will never rent or sell your name, email address, or home or business address to any non-affiliated third-party person or company.

We will not share your information with anyone other than how as explained in this Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

Occasionally, we may provide links from the hebertthomaslaw.com website to, or display information, products, and services from, third-party websites. We take no responsibility for the privacy policies of these third-party websites. Third-parties will handle your information according to their own privacy policies and you should review and understand their separate policies.

Unsubscribing from Our Email Newsletters and Lists

HT Law is committed to not overwhelming you with emails and offers. However, we will contact you if we have something to relay to you that we believe may pique your interest. In doing so, HT Law sends out a regular email newsletter.

At all times, we comply fully with all requirements of the CAN-SPAM Act, which establishes rules for commercial email and authorizes tough penalties for violation of recipient rights to stop publishers and marketers from sending unwanted emails.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

Children under the age of 13 are protected by (“COPPA”), Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, which allows parental control over the collection of PII from their children. COPPA also details how operators of websites and online services are to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

We do not direct our marketing efforts to anyone under the age of 18, nor do we believe that users under 18 are interested in our services or spend any time on the www.hebertthomas.com website.

Data Breaches

To comply with the Fair Information Practices Principles, which form the basis of privacy law in the United States, if we ever experience a data breach, we agree to notify users by email within five business days. We also agree to the Individual Redress Principle, which grants you the right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to abide by the law.
